Visiting the grandparents

This painting is based off a very bad cell phone picture back when cell phone cameras were a new thing. Even though my reference material was terrible, I've visited enough to be very familiar with the subject matter. What inspired me to paint is that grandmother is always on the left with a schnauzer on her foot and grandfather is always on the right with the little brown mutt on his foot. It's really kind of funny because anytime anyone visits, this is the scene they're sure to see. It's a warm, happy, relaxing, quiet place to be and that's what I wanted to capture in this painting.
