Broccoli Reimagined

I was given a challenge by my. Instructor, Ed Chesnovitch, to paint broccoli. After experimenting with many perspectives, I wanted to focus on the graceful curves of stem and flowers and the amazing blues and purples as well as the almost endless shades of green. So I photographed an extreme closeup , laid out my palette, and painted from there.
