Golden Leaves

This a bigger painting inspired by a smaller pastel sketch painted en plein air in a park near my home. The Fall colours were glorious and my challenge was to interpret these colours without being over detailed. I wanted the light to shine and to enhance the colours I saw being reflected on the bark of the trees. I used dry pastel over a watercolour underpainting.
