On Bishop's Campus

I had made a graphite sketch of the same size en plein air last September, but had not taken any photographs of the view. While I was looking at the sketch in my studio 2 months later, I thought it could be interesting to try and paint the scene from the graphite sketch only, following the value map I had drawn outside and remember the sense of light and shade, as well as the feeling of quietness I had while I was drawing outside. I have to admit I was quite happy with the result!
