Several years ago, while driving through Colorado, my friend and I stopped for some sightseeing along the highway. Some of those photos inspired this painting on a UArt 500 mounted board. I created a very loose underpainting using NuPastels and rubbing alcohol, then massed in that value structure using Terry Ludwig pastels. After a few finishing marks, I had a fun recreation of the rocks near Lyons, Colorado.
