I've painted with pastels full time since I retired in 2018. I enjoy the landscape and animals of the Southwest that I have come to know since I moved to Arizona two years ago. The Prickly Pear in this painting is out in my yard and enjoy the blooming flowers plus what they look like after they have bloomed.
