Final Harbor

This painting was inspired by a lunch trip to a local waterside fish market. The color and repetitive shapes of the salmon were interesting. I snapped a photo without really knowing if it would inform a painting later. I started by graphing the shapes on dark UART 400, painting with hard pastels and pastel pencils and finishing with soft pastels. I found working the ice forms as abstract shapes intriguing.
