a primary artistic focus of mine in recent years has been imperiled Florida wildlife and landscapes. Pastel is my primary medium and I find it perfect for rendering animals. The Florida Panther, Puma concolor coryi is one of the most endangered animals in the world, and keeping it viable amid Florida's maniacal development remains a formidable challenge. My painting is a tribute to the intense intelligence, beauty and "unknowableness" of this storied catamount.
