Limes

One day, a bowl of limes unexpectedly caught my attention. The vibrant greens of the limes were especially striking and provided the perfect excuse to purchase a new set of warm green pastels. I painted the limes in my typical style, being quick and spontaneous while combining loose gesture marks with more defining lines. I also like to work with heavy shadowing for increased drama. Artists that inspire me include Manet, Sargent, and Velazquez.
