Unbridled

This is a draft horse at a rescue horse farm in CT who is really not sad, just tired from being out with other horses for the afternoon. However, my photo made me think of the American plains horses trapped in pens for days waiting to be sold which led me to paint this image. The shadows cast by the pen railings loosely resemble a bridle.
