Inspiration for this painting came when the opportunity to enter the local open annual 2020 Wild Women Show themed Change the World recently happened. The scene portrays a group of unified women standing on the curve of the landscape overlooking the world in the distance. The symbol of kindness runs through the light of the sky, in through the trees and onto the earth. With all of the turmoil that may stir emotions in us, my belief is that if we all have more kindness, compassion and consideration for one another it would change the world. The birds came about as an accidental pastel mark landed in the sky. It seemed right to make it into a bird and the additional birds were created from that point. Symbolism of the birds completed the feeling of peaceful transformation. The painting was created on white Wallace paper with a watercolor underpainting. Clear Art Spectrum coloufix original pastel and multimedia primer was applied with a palette knife and brushes before the soft pastel was applied.
