Soft Pastel with watercolor underpainting. This scene is the Siphon Draw in the Superstition Mountains, AZ. I live close by and paint the Superstitions and Siphon Draw on a regular basis. I usually paint a small plein air oil study and do a larger studio in paste. I am fascinated by the endless compositions that the mountain has to offer.
